Pre- & Post-Treatment Recommendations

BBL (Forever Young, Forever Body, Corrective, Clear/Acne)

Pre-Treatment


  • Avoid sun, tanning beds, and tanning cream/lotion for at least 2 weeks before treatment.
  • Stop all Vitamin A products 3 days before treatment
  • Tell your treatment provider if you are on any prescriptions that may cause light sensitivity.

Post-Treatment


  • Avoid sun and tanning beds.
  • Do not exfoliate until skin is healed to completion (about 7-10 days)
  • May use makeup immediately if desired
  • Do not pick, scratch, or rub the treatment area
  • Avoid Vitamin A products for 5 days


HALO

Pre-Treatment Recommendations


  • Discontinue use of any products containing retinol, tretinoin, vitamin A, glycolic acid,salicylic acid, AHA, and LHA for 7 days prior to treatment.
  • Avoid products containing hydroquinone for 3 days before treatment.
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 14 days before treatment.
  • Do not wax or use depilatory creams on the treatment area for 14 days pre-treatment.
  • Bring a wide-brimmed hat to protect your skin post-treatment

Post-Treatment Recommendations


  • Post treatment, an occlusive barrier (ie, Aquaphor) will be applied and should be reapplied as needed to keep the skin moist.
  • Cleanse the skin twice a day with lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser (start morning after treatment), then pat dry with a soft cloth.
  • Peeling and flaking generally occur within 24 hours post treatment and should be allowed to come off naturally. DO NOT PICK, RUB, OR FORCE OFF ANY SKIN DURING THE HEALING PROCESS! Gently washing the skin more frequently will help to promote the peeling process.
  • Sunscreen MUST be worn daily beginning the day of treatment and used vigilantly for at least 3 months post procedure.
  • Makeup can be worn AFTER peeling is complete.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating until after skin has healed.

BBL BAREit Laser Hair Removal

Pre-Treatment Recommendations


  • Avoid sun, tanning beds, and tanning cream/lotion for 2 weeks before treatment.
  • Avoid waxing, hair removal creams, tweezing, and hair bleaching for 6 weeks before treatment.
  • Shave the area(s) to be treated the night before treatment in the direction of hair growth.
  • Stop using any topical products on the area(s) to be treated for 3 days.

Post-Treatment Recommendations


  • The treated area may be very warm for 1-2 hours and may continue for up to 24 hours.
  • Redness and swelling are normal and typically subside in 2-3 days.
  • Use gentle cleansers and keep skin moisturized and out of the sun.
  • Avoid pools, hot tubs, excessive sweating, vigorous scrubbing, and exfoliants.
  • For symptom relief, you can apply ice or cold compresses and/or take OTC pain medications such as Tylenol or ibuprofen.

TOXIN (Dysport/Botox)

Pre-Treatment Recommendations


  • Avoid Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Advil, & other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) 48 hours before treatment
  • Avoid products containing Vitamin E for 48 hours before treatment
  • Avoid vigorous exercise on the day of treatment
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment

Post-Treatment Recommendations


  • Do not lie down for 4 hours.
  • Do not massage, rub, or scratch injection sites.
  • Do not exercise for the next 12 hours.
  • Do not wear constrictive clothing or accessories (ie, hats, headbands) over the treatment areas for 24 hours.


*Failure to follow these guidelines could result in droopy brows, eyelid ptosis (droopy eye lid), and uneven results.

DERMAL FILLER

Pre-Treatment Recommendations


  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment.
  • Avoid Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Advil, & other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for 48 hours before treatment.
  • Avoid vigorous exercise on the day of treatment.
  • If you have history of facial/oral cold sores (HSV), tell your treatment provider before treatment to discuss pre-treating with medication to minimize the risk of reoccurrence.

Post-Treatment Recommendations


  • Common post-treatment symptoms include temporary redness and swelling at the injection site. This typically resolves within 2-4 days.
  • Bruising is also common and generally lasts for 5-7+ days.
  • Cold compresses/ice packs may be used to help reduce swelling.
  • Avoid rubbing or massaging the treatment area(s) for at least 24 hours.
  • Try to sleep on your back with head slightly elevated (if possible) to help reduce any swelling.
  • Avoid vigorous exercise and excessive heat for 24 hours.

CHEMICAL PEEL

Pre-Treatment Recommendations


  • Avoid use of products containing retinoids for 5 days before treatment.
  • Avoid any strenuous physical activity on the day of your treatment.


Note - Your peel will be postponed if:

  • You have current open lesions, active cold sores, or facial dermatitis until they have completely healed
  • It has been less than 5 days since last exposure to sun or tanning beds
  • If you have taken Accutane within the last 1 year

Post-Treatment Recommendations


  • Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for 1 week post-peel.
  • Apply sunscreen containing zinc oxide and with an SPF of 30+
  • Avoid using exfoliants and products containing alpha hydroxy acids (ie, lactic, glycolic, salicylic acids) for 5 days.
  • Avoid peeling the skin and/or any manual exfoliation.
  • Use only gentle cleansers and moisturizers during the first 5 days post-treatment.
  • Skin may flake or peel for up to 7 days
